Prayer

Jude 1

Blessed Lord, we have been called by You and we are loved by You.  Keep us in the faith, and give us the courage to contend for the truth.  There have always been those who serve the wicked one more than they serve Your Son.  We do not want to be led by such men.  Protect us, O God, for we are weak, and we need more discernment.  We turn away from all sexual immorality.  We pray that You would keep our ministers from boasting about spiritual complexities that they do not understand.  Rid from Your teachers the impulse to impress many with complexity of instruction that will not be helpful to those who have gathered to hear the truth of Christ.  We have been warned that not every man who would call himself a Christian teacher or preacher is a true minister of the Word.  Look on us in our weakness and help us from on high.  Father, many among our number are confused and vulnerable.  You surely will have mercy on those who doubt, for You have instructed us to do the same.  Keep us true to the holy faith that is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  To Your Name be glory for all eternity.
